Come On In and Stay A While

Welcome to the blog of Staja Studios. We are STAcey and JAson Thon, the dynamic duo (self proclaimed) behind Staja Studios! This blog serves as our way to keep in touch with everyone we know, like, and love. We thought it would be a fun way for people who know us to keep up with what is going on in our lives and studio, and a wonderful way for those of you who may have just met us to learn more about who we are.
We would like to bring together our professional and personal lives. You can expect to see pictures from our latest weddings, engagement shoots, portraits, etc. As well as some personal, fine art, family pics, and other projects. In addition, we will be sharing our "Cheers and Jeers", and other random ramblings about whatever strikes our fancy. In the future we are also looking for ways to make things more interactive, if you will. This may include voting for a particular marketing piece, contests, and various other activities.
Thank you all for stopping by, and don't forget to - Get Captured!

Envision - Spring 2009

A couple of weeks ago, I shot the Envision Spring Fashion Show at the Graves Hotel with my friend Josh Stokes for Ignite Models. If you have been reading our blog lately, you probably have noticed that I have been shooting more and more fashion. The show was a lot of fun and featured some wonderful local designers and models. Needless to say, the ladies warmed up the spring night! Based on the turnout, it appeared that I wasn't the only who thought so. Be sure to keep your eyes out for their next event, and enjoy some of my favorite images and designs from the evening!

The night started with a contest featuring local hair stylists getting the ladies ready for the big event.

Let The Show Begin!

Nice Jason! How did you light these?!

The wedding gowns are amazing- are those by PFT Couture? They look familiar!

Thanks Laura!

The shots of the hair getting done were lit by bouncing my 580 flash. Everything else was done with the strip of lights that they put in for the show. I'm pretty sure those were by PFT Couture, but I can find out though.
