Come On In and Stay A While

Welcome to the blog of Staja Studios. We are STAcey and JAson Thon, the dynamic duo (self proclaimed) behind Staja Studios! This blog serves as our way to keep in touch with everyone we know, like, and love. We thought it would be a fun way for people who know us to keep up with what is going on in our lives and studio, and a wonderful way for those of you who may have just met us to learn more about who we are.
We would like to bring together our professional and personal lives. You can expect to see pictures from our latest weddings, engagement shoots, portraits, etc. As well as some personal, fine art, family pics, and other projects. In addition, we will be sharing our "Cheers and Jeers", and other random ramblings about whatever strikes our fancy. In the future we are also looking for ways to make things more interactive, if you will. This may include voting for a particular marketing piece, contests, and various other activities.
Thank you all for stopping by, and don't forget to - Get Captured!

Tad

I know that Stacey covered the double senior session in the post below, but I thought it was time that we showed a few images of Tad. Not only is Tad my cousin, but he has been a big help to Stacey and I in the past. He has worked for us, and is also Lauren's Godfather. Without further adieu, here is Tad.

Tad likes the outdoors and hunting, so we tried to make sure we got some of those shots.

Some shots near the lake. I loved this old boat and thought it worked well.

Tad and his friends also like coming down to Cal Surf, so we incorporated the building and its graffiti into the shoot.

In closing, I would like to let both Tad and Julia know that Stacey and I are proud of the both of you and look forward to seeing where the next stage of your lives take you both. ENJOY YOUR SENIOR YEAR!!!

Julia

I've been meaning to make this post for many moons now. Jason and I did a double senior session for two of his cousins, Julia and Tad, who are graduating this year. We hit one of our favorite locations, Lake Calhoun and then wandered into uptown for some "urbany" night shots. It was fun to shoot "together alone", if you know what I mean. We were each photographing different people in the same locations, but ended up with a lot of unique stuff. Funny how people see the same thing differently.

Since ladies should always go first, here are some shots of Julia...

Simply Elegant

Hello again!

Christine and Randy got married at Christine's parents farm in Le Center, MN. When we got the call from these guys to shoot their wedding, Jason already had a prior commitment, so our trusty and fabulous assistant, Josh, and I hit the road. Of course with me in the driver's seat, it wasn't long before we were completely turned around and lost! (I should have known better than to trust the google map). After a couple of calls and two stops to ask for directions, we did finally arrive. It was a very small gathering of family and close friends. A simple, country wedding yes, yet soooooo elegant! They tied the knot under a giant tree in the backyard; it was just gorgeous. The weather could not have been better for their outdoor ceremony and reception. Next, we all climbed onto covered wagons pulled by two horses for an afternoon ride around their expansive farmland. When we returned, dinner was served under a beautifully decorated white tent. Prime rib...the best I've EVER had. I'm not kidding, it was melt in your mouth delicious! And did I mention that we got to sit at the head table? How cool is that?! We truly felt like part of the family from the moment we arrived. Everyone was so gracious and kind. Thank you all very much. We loved being a part of the day!

I know that Christine is itching to see some images from the day, so check them out and don't forget to click for the slideshow!

Here is the beautiful bride getting ready.

Mark & Rebecca

Well everyone, after a very busy month, we are trying to catch up on our blogging. Mark and Rebecca got married in late August on a beautiful day for an outdoor ceremony. The couple got ready at their home and then proceeded out to Bluff Creek Golf Course for the ceremony. The ceremony itself was held out in a cleared area amongst the trees. The weather couldn't have been any better, and helped make for a wonderful ceremony. From that point, the reception was held at the Minnesota Harvest Apple Orchard, which had a nice relaxed and rustic feel which seemed to fit the rest of the day. Needless to say it was a lot of fun to be a part of. With the fall colors in the flowers and the apple orchard, it seemed to signify its own beginning of fall.
