Katie & Stephen

We did Katie and Stephen's wedding recently and had so much fun! We got a beautiful fall day and the weather, although a little brisk at times, couldn't have cooperated better. We started the day at Pax Christi Church for the ceremony and proceeded to take a little stroll near Anderson Lake Park afterward. The day concluded with a great reception at the Edina Country Club. These two were high school sweethearts who stuck it out through college and are now happily married! We wish you both the very best and can't wait for your viewing.

Flying Solo with a Couple of Mountain Goats!

Ashley and Mike were dying to use the fall colors in their engagement pictures and as we were trying to schedule it, all of our lives seemed to keep getting in the way. Finally we found a day that worked out (kind of). Jason ended up having a prior commitment, so I flew solo on this one. We started out at St. Thomas, alma mater of both Ashley and Mike. After that, we headed west down Summit Ave. Little did I know that we would end up repelling down steep cliffs and of course scaling back up them! But, as a team we all made it down to the river for some gorgeous shots of fall colors and the Mississippi...camera bag intact! It was a great adventure. I haven't hiked in the woods for a looooong time! I think the images we got are well worth the fact that we risked our lives! Thanks Ashley! (just kidding:))

To all of our photographer friends and potential blogstalkers. We wanted to let you know about two great new photography resources out there. For those of you that may have heard of the [b]school, it is now up and running. This is a new site that is going to be networking and educational based, put together by the infamous [b]ecker.



In addition, my friend, Ray Santana, has started a new site called ProPhotoHub. For all of the latest and greatest information within the industry, this is the place to go. Ray is also conducting some interviews with various wedding photographers whose work you may have seen.

Preview: Staja Style - The Day After

Stacey and I have been working on a big project for a while now that we think is going to provide clients with a whole new look into wedding photography - Staja Style. In anticipation, we wanted to give everyone a little teaser of some of the images from this project. Some of you may recognize Camilla and Jim from their wedding a few weeks ago. Well here are some images from their day after session!

There has been a trend in wedding photography called "Trash The Dress". We prefer to look at it as have fun in the dress again. Although we love the contrast of beauty and grit, elegance and grunge, etc; our style has always been firmly planted in timeless (yet never stuffy) images with a modern edge. Drawing on influences that range from various genres of photography (editorial, fashion, lifestyle, fine-art), movies, and other classic art forms, our goal to provide great images that will be just as fashionable in 20 years as they are today lives on. With that said, here is the first sneak peak of "Staja Style".







We can't wait to show everyone what we have been working on when it is completed, so stay tuned for more to come!
